About
I am a hard-working and passionate physician, board-certified in General Preventive Medicine and Public Health. I am also a Certified Wound Specialist with 4+ years of experience as a Medical Director of wound care and hyperbaric medicine practices. I have 6+ years of public health experience, working on a variety of successful local, federal and international projects. I am adept in healthcare quality infrastructure improvement, specifically in vulnerable and underserved communities across the globe. I have extensive experience applying advance wound management and public health expertise to neglected populations with minimal resources. I have had a significant amount of success building healthcare delivery capacity quality and capacity. I helped develop a new wound care practice as a Medical director at Mercy hospital in Joplin, MO. Under my leadership, the practice grew from 1-2 patients daily to 15-20 in less than 2 years with a <30 days wound heal time, and >85% heal rate. I also was the founder of the first multidisciplinary Limb salvage board in the Mercy Hospital system, with a 90% lower extremity amputation prevention rate in the first year. Throughout my career, I have been dedicated to quality improvement, understanding that high functioning healthcare systems can optimize quality of care. I practiced this by serving on several committees including Medicine Quality Improvement, Pharmacy and Therapeutics, Patient Safety and Clinical Quality, and Science and Translation. This has allowed me to become a knowledgeable leader in quality improvement projects, multidisciplinary collaboration, medical education, utilization management, pharmacovigilance and budget management.
