Tina Ghosn

I am a USAF veteran, former elementary school teacher, and former program manager for Type 1 United, a nonprofit that hosts summer camps and an adult retreat for people living with type 1 diabetes. I spent four years coordinating the Breakthrough T1D (formerly JDRF) Kids Walk to Cure Diabetes at schools across Texas, and I have more than a decade of experience mentoring parents of newly diagnosed children with T1D. As the author of the Stick With It Sugar blog, I have combined lived experience, advocacy, and community support to help families navigate life with type 1 diabetes with confidence and compassion. I am deeply interested in continuing my work within a nonprofit or health organization that provides education, advocacy, and practical support for families affected by type 1 diabetes or other chronic illnesses. My background in program development, family mentorship, and community engagement has shown me how transformative the right resources and compassionate guidance can be. I’m passionate about helping families feel empowered, informed, and supported as they navigate the challenges of chronic disease, and I’m committed to contributing my experience to organizations that share that mission.
