I'm helping build a next generation engineering stack for the Restaurant Technology industry. My engineering focus is the FinTech side of our platform: payments, payouts, taxes, reconciliation, reporting, compliance, flow of funds, invoicing, billing, integrated accounting, risk, fraud, all the money related engineering things.

As backend and product engineering lead for Grid's BoostCard (a debit card that earns points and builds credit) I executed integrations between core services, payment processors, banking providers, card issuers, and credit reporting agencies in order to scale systems to support hundreds of thousands of daily active users.

Moving into Grid's 2nd major product area of personal finance, I led the backend development for payroll and bank account integrations, multiple payments and flow of funds systems, client facing product backends, and risk analysis.

As our tax product lines launched to production, I continued to lead our growing backend product engineering needs, but also added our DevOps, CICD, DevX, and Data Analytics needs to my list of ownership areas.

In backend engineering, I led the development of almost all backend services, spanning everything from database designs and RPC contracts to product design and internal tooling library code.

In Performance Engineering, I led the development and adoption of our Performance-as-a-Service toolset (Gatling/Scala) for product engineering teams to utilize. I also led the test implementation, execution, analysis, and corrective actions for Black Friday and iPhone Launch in supporting Fortune 10 customers of our distributed AWS platform.

In Platform Engineering, I designed and built a three-database live-to-production CRUD application. It allowed us to retire an expensive and cumbersome ETL as well as replace our existing CRUD application from the legacy PHP stack. In Product Engineering, I worked to keep the legacy PHP monolith working with the new Java microservices as we replaced our product offering with new canonical REST APIs. I also helped design, develop, and implement 9 new Sprint APIs to join our TelCom product offerings for the first time.

In Autodesk's sustainability solutions team, I designed and built a LEED credits calculator into the industry-leading Revit architecture software as part of a company-wide initiative to kickstart new projects directly from industry. I worked as the sole engineer in a marketing team building tools that were demo'd to named accounts weekly to drive investment. At the conclusion of the initiative, my project achieved a $2 Million investment to build out with a full team, the only project out of 52 to achieve any named-accounts investment at all.
