Customer Relationship Management (CRM) (October 2013 — August 2015) CRM is the central solution for all members of the dealership salesforce, providing lead management, appointment tracking and scheduling, sales staff performance rankings and integrations with Dealer Management Systems (DMS). Key Projects: • Consumed SOAP-based web services, using Spring Web Services, to retrieve data from third party DMS providers. • Utilized chunk processing in Spring Batch, to effectively run bulk and incremental loads of F&I (Finance and Insurance) deals, service repair orders and service appointments. • Designed and developed an integration with third party trade appraisal systems. • Extracted service repair order and appointment functionality into a separate module, in an effort to move a monolithic CRM application towards a microservices architecture. Web Architecture (July 2012 — October 2013) CMS is a content management system that supports over 15,000 dealership websites, averaging approximately 1000 requests per second. The Web Architecture team is responsible for improving the performance and stability of CMS and its supporting services. Key Projects: • Collaborated with the inventory team to optimize and consolidate remote procedure calls that retrieve vehicle data, decreasing response times on dealership home pages by 4.2%, and dealership showroom pages by 10.2%. • Extracted functionality from the legacy CMS application into new web services, allowing other internal applications to consume these services without affecting the performance of the core platform. • Analyzed garbage collection performance and tuned the Concurrent Mark and Sweep collector for CMS. • Upgraded Apache Solr instances from version 1.4 to 4.0. Developer on an application called QuikPAY, which provides payment processing, online billing, payment plans and eCommerce solutions to over 160 colleges and universities. QuikPAY has processed 7.6 million transactions totaling $9.4 billion in ACH and credit card payments, and 300,000 transactions totaling $600 million in refunds over the past 12 months. Key Projects: • Assisted in a migration from a proprietary transaction management system to Spring transaction management. • Implemented RESTful web services using JAX-RS to allow integrated reports within UniLink’s (a partner company’s) Cashiering system. • Analyzed memory usage using JProfiler, and identified a memory leak causing OutOfMemoryExceptions using Eclipse Memory Analyzer. • Designed and developed a feature to allow customers to modify email content through the user interface. Created a parser to migrate existing email content from XSL into the database. Environment: Java 6, Struts, Hibernate, Spring, Oracle 10g, JSP, JSTL, Ant, JUnit, Mockito, DBUnit
