Lead tooling department and provide tooling support for all production needs. Responsible for all mold repairs in and out of house. Tracking and maintaining all molds for shot counts, pm’s, repairs, and engineering changes. Change of standardizing all equipment throughout molding and tooling floor. Develop and implement process improvements to optimize productivity and reduce costs. Communicate with suppliers to resolve technical tooling issues and report back to plant manager and manufacturing team on progress, issues, and changes. Work with project engineer on new tooling being introduced to facility.

Fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools. Set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments. Tear down, repairs and reassembles tooling on the bench or in the press as required. Troubleshoot new and existing molds and makes repairs and adjustments as needed.

Tool room lead on 12 hour night shift. Clean and repair multi manifold hot runner systems. Troubleshooting molds at press to keep production running. Tear down large high cavitation molds for repairs and pm's. Make any jigs or fixtures needed for production.

Able to perform preventative maintenance and repair on injection molds including electrical and hydraulic components. Able to reverse engineer and manufacture mold components within time limitations while meeting established quality requirements. Able to rebuild complete hot runner systems. Experience using SAP computer system. Experience working with vendors with spare mold parts. Responsible for operating forklifts and overhead cranes to take dies in and out of the tool room. Working with and instructing apprentices as required.

Responsible for primary production operations. Effective skills in running manual mills, CNC mills, and EDM burners. Proficient working knowledge in production of EDM burner electrodes. Abilities to read design prints, assist in troubleshooting and mold repair.

Effective skills in close tolerance surface grinding. Effective skills in running manual mills, manual and CNC Moore jig grinders and EDM burners. Proficient working knowledge in production of EDM burner electrodes. Abilities to read design prints, assist in troubleshooting and mold repair.
