Project involved researching, testing and prototyping to develop a responsive musical device for people with severe cognitive disability. Thorough research in cognitive disabilities, their symptoms, communication techniques currently used with patients and how music is used as a successful tool of communication was performed. Detailed Programming of a large range of sensors and a micro controller was done using LabVIEW 11.0 as well as music sample mixing and editing using Audacity. Detailed lab development and testing as well as in field testing with a range of patients was performed. Final in depth research lead to concept design, basic prototype and redefined detailed specification for future development.

Project involved full design concept development of modules to meet specification including project budget * integrating and developing sensors * designing and configuring vibrating hoppers and conveyor belt designs * regular meetings and collaboration with the client * full integration of Solid Edge drawings from group modules to give final product all within project deadline.
