Timothy Land
Executive Director, Monitoring & Enforcement @ ADGM
About
A regulatory practitioner and leader with over 20 years’ public and private sector experience in the financial services arena. I am focussed on common sense, effective and efficient regulation and regulatory outcomes. *** Joining ADGM in June 2016, I set up the supervisory and enforcement functions at the ADGM Registration Authority to monitor compliance with ADGM's broad based, English common law, commercial legislation. Today I manage a team of 18 highly skilled supervisory and enforcement staff, carrying out onsite and desk based assessments of the +12,000 businesses in ADGM, as well as investigations. We also routinely review and enhance the RA's risk-based supervisory and enforcement frameworks, policies, procedures and systems. I am adept at building trust and influencing decision making with key stakeholders, including local authorities and international bodies. With a passion for mentoring and developing junior staff, maintaining knowledge of regulatory and policy developments locally and internationally is a key focus, along with applying technology (including AI) to regulatory processes. I hold multiple credentials and degrees across law, financial markets, information technology, anti-money laundering and data protection.
