For more than four decades, I’ve worked in the security profession across physical security, cybersecurity, and enterprise risk management. During that time, I’ve seen the role of security evolve dramatically - from a technical and compliance function to a strategic capability that helps organizations make better decisions about risk.Today, I serve as the CEO and Founder of TaleCraft Security, where our mission is simple:Help. Give Back. Grow.We help organizations build risk-informed, business-aligned security programs using the principles of Enterprise Security Risk Management (ESRM). Our focus is not just on controls or compliance, but on helping leaders understand risk in a way that supports business decisions and organizational resilience.Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of serving organizations across government, critical infrastructure, transportation, energy, and global enterprises. I was honoured to serve as the President of ASIS International in 2023, working with security professionals around the world who are advancing the profession and strengthening the communities we protect.At TaleCraft Security, we focus on several key areas:• Enterprise Security Risk Management (ESRM) consulting and program development• Security leadership and storytelling workshops for security professionals• Mentoring the next generation of security leaders through the TaleCraft “Old Guard” initiative• Developing new tools, including the TaleCraft ScoreCard, to help organizations assess security maturity and resilienceOne of the lessons I’ve learned over the years is that security leadership is not just about protecting systems or assets.
