I am currently volunteering with the development associate at the Women's Bean Project. To date, I have assisted with donor database entry and maintenance on Microsoft CRM, Thank you letter generation, follow-up with Beans Talk attendees, set-up for WBP sales events, learn how to accept and track sales and run an event.

* Researched and developed plan of action for new website. * Developed and managed social media accounts including Twitter and Facebook, providing continuous information and updates about upcoming tours and events. Monitored and tracked online activity.

Helps with fundraising, by building and sustaining strong community relationships, attending key community events, networking with high profile community members, and partnering with former donors. Serves as secretary for past three years. Maintains meeting notes from each board meeting, submits official minutes, manages contact list for Board members, and attends Executive Committee meetings. Plans and coordinates various fundraising events. Authored governance plan that outlined best practices for the governing board of Watershed School. Synthesized materials and recommendations from both BoardSource and National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) to form a full scale plan for Watershed; assisted in brainstorming with potential trustees, recruiting new trustees, on-boarding, training and development, and trustee selection process.

I continued my studies in theatre and then switched my major to sociology, where I took a keen interested in social systems and how they operate.

Regis University’s Master of Nonprofit Management degree is specifically designed to assist nonprofit professionals to become leaders within the ever changing and dynamic nonprofit sector. Activities and Societies: I will also receive a Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Organizational Capacity Building. This certificate is designed for nonprofit organization leaders—executives, administrative staff members, board officers and other members—who are seeking to strengthen the capacity of their organization in terms of fiscal, operational, strategic and governance performance. It is a 12-credit hour requirement, in which a student chooses 4 out of 6 classes.

During my time at the University of Chicago, I volunteered at an East Asian Community center working with seniors. I spent time with them eating, talking, and learning their culture in an effort to understand the differences in how America treats and devalues its senior citizens versus how other cultures value their seniors citizens. I wrote my thesis on these cultural differences.
