Tom studied foundation Art and Design at Lincoln College and then graduated in 2016 with a BA in Graphic Communication and Illustration at Loughborough University. He has since been working as a freelance illustrator and creative from his home studio in the East Midlands, working majoritively with the self-publishing community, designing book covers and promotional material. Alongside this, tq-creative has been focussed on producing commission based artwork as well as developing private creative projects. Tom has also experienced work opportunities in the film industry, specifically in production design and the art department. Ultimately, Tom endeavours to learn his craft and to hone his creative abilities with the aim of becoming an exemplary visual communicator and illustrator.

In Year 1, students are encouraged to work through an exciting array of briefs that examine aspects of the subjects, including drawing and visualising, layouts and grids, animation, filmmaking, typography, ambient media, advertising and graphic theatre. In Year 2, students are encouraged to sample a wide range of specialisms including sequential and narrative design, corporate identity, editorial and book design, packaging and information graphics, all deployed across a range of media. In the final year, this process stimulates students to recognise and test their strengths as a graphic and illustrative communicator, building confidence in the ability to develop a personal focus.

During my service I was posted on two warships, HMS Sutherland and HMS Portland respectively. Between ships I deployed to the Middle East twice, each time visiting various European and Eastern countries. I held responsibilities primarily as an IT operative and analyst and secondarily as armed guard and sentry. In 2011 I was posted to Northwood HQ in London to serve until my discharge date. Whilst there, I held IT operative and administrative duties for Naval Intelligence.
