Thomas Linner

𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙛𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙤𝙧 𝙖𝙩 𝙊𝙏𝙃 𝙍𝙚𝙜𝙚𝙣𝙨𝙗𝙪𝙧𝙜 & 𝘾𝙀𝙊 𝙤𝙛 𝘾𝙍𝙀𝘿𝙊 𝙍𝙤𝙗𝙤𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙨 𝙂𝙢𝙗𝙃 Dr. Thomas Linner has been working at the intersection of R&D, systems engineering, and innovation management in the field of advanced construction and building technologies for more than 20 years. His focus lies in developing smart, resilient, and human-centric cities, with a particular emphasis on assistive technologies and construction robotics. He currently holds a professorship at OTH Regensburg, where he leads the Laboratory for Automation and Robotics in Construction within the university’s Building Lab—a local innovation hub and incubator for construction technology (ConTech). He also serves as CEO of CREDO Robotics GmbH, an exclusive strategy and engineering consultancy for construction automation. Previously, Dr. Linner was a senior scientist and lecturer in Building Realization and Robotics at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), and a Guest Associate Professor at the Department of System Design Engineering at Keio University, Japan. He has coordinated and contributed to numerous large-scale, multi-partner R&D and technology transfer initiatives at the interface of academia and industry. As an internationally recognized expert, Dr. Linner has been invited to speak at leading institutions such as the University of Tokyo, The University of Hong Kong, and Cambridge University. Dr. Linner serves as: • Vice President of the International Association for Automation and Robotics in Construction (IAARC) • Member of the Presidial Committee at DIN (appointed in 2021) His recognitions include the CEN-CENELEC Standards+Innovation Award (2019) and a Japanese Center of Excellence Grant. Dr. Linner has substantial experience in acquiring and managing national and international R&D funding and investment projects. He regularly evaluates proposals in major funding programs, acts as a reviewer and editor for high-impact journals and conferences, and holds several patents as well as board-level positions.
