As an artist and a brand editor, I’m constantly exploring and defining context both digitally and across multiple channels. I work to co-create spaces, or experiences for people to enter into and make their own meaning, allowing for human connection. I say co-create because none of the work I do exists without the spectator (or customer) as an active participant in the work. That’s how I approach experiential branding for global businesses with Literal Label. It’s the guiding philosophy behind the subtle nature of my art. David Shing, Digital Prophet at AOL, did an interview on MSNBC that’s really stuck with me. He says… “…at the end of the day, at the end of that screen is a human and they have this finite amount of attention that we have to focus them on. So, if you’re a brand that helps calm the noise, then you’re actually able to get in the middle of that and help them become a better human, because you’re facilitating that noise for them.” That's what I do.

Literal Label is a Nashville based brand agency and independent publishing house focused on applying art, pop-culture and philosophy to business. Past projects have been featured in Fubiz, Vice, TenMag and The Creators Project. Literal Label was founded and launched in 2014 by brand editor Salem Roberts. Within its first year, Literal Label went global providing the core branding for the Zurich-based biotech startup CellSpring, which raised over $320k in capital. In addition to successes in biotech, Literal Label has partnered with multiple TED speakers, tech disruptors born out of ETH Zurich and varying brands in industries from HR consulting firms to digital marketing agencies, providing content for Fortune 500 companies including LinkedIn and Nissan.Literal Label also owns and operates Relabel and Unlabel, brand development and management companies.
