HCDS provides services to the residents of San Diego County and works to administer State and Federal funded programs to the region. -HPA are responsible to design, develop, implement, and evaluate existing and proposed low-income housing, community and/or economic development programs, community development plans, and individual housing urban development funded program-based government assistance.

-Designing of Program Development framework and implementation plan for Wellness Education, Newcomer Support, Family Engagement, and Value-setting curriculums -Designing of annual Professional Development plan -Manage contracts and budgets for programs and staff salaries -Facilitation of training workshops for school site and lead agency -Direct oversight of Program Specialists and Site Coordinators -Community climate setting and development of school site and off site programs

-Program planning and coordination -Direct oversight of program staff and 150 youth each day -Manage program expenses and budget for ExCEL and DCYF grants -Development and facilitation of Professional Development trainings for staff -Support and collaborative planning with school Administrators, Counselors, Teachers, Social Worker, etc. to provide wraparound support services for youth and families -Building positive relationships and sustainable partnerships between youth, families, the Francisco Middle School Staff and Administration, and the larger community -Manage administrative duties for the Francisco Middle School after school site

Since 1959, the Mission Neighborhood Centers, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization, with 11 community centers, have provided quality programs that promote self-sufficiency and community growth for San Francisco’s children, youth, families and seniors through our Child Development Programs, Youth and Senior Services Programs. -Knowledgeable of community resources, referral agencies, and citywide services -Build strong partnerships with family liaisons and family advocates in SFUSD and local communities -Developing intentional programming that fosters family engagement and empowerment -Organize Cultural Events -Coordinating monthly workshops -Administrative support and responsibilities include but not limited to: office management, volunteer requirement and coordination, marketing and outreach -Program Development for Mission Beacon High School Leadership, Girls Group, Community Leaders, etc. -Youth and family case management -Development of on-boarding policies and procedures for new staff/volunteers train

The Bachelor of Arts in Child and Adolescent Development (CAD) is for students interested in studying and working with issues related to children, adolescents, and their families. The Department of Child and Adolescent Development is affiliated with the Marian Wright Edelman Institute for the Study of Children, Youth, and Families. The Edelman Institute’s mission is to further educational excellence through its association with the interdisciplinary child and adolescent development curriculum; promote collaboration among faculty; create public outreach, social advocacy, and other partnerships between SF State and the community; and to foster research and scholarly work in the area of children, youth, and families.
