A tenured professor of psychology at Pepperdine University, I utilize psychology, theology, and the Arts to empower people to move from surviving to thriving in the aftermath of major life events, including traumatic events. I am particularly concerned with honoring people's strengths, including the influence of cultural context. My expertise is trauma recovery with ethnically marginalized persons, women, and persons of faith.
