Statutory compliance and safety • Ensuring compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) and regulations specific to mechanical systems and machinery. • Taking legal responsibility for the safe operation and maintenance of all machinery and equipment in the concentrator. • Conducting regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations. • Ensuring adherence to safety protocols, including emergency response procedures and lockout/tagout practices for machinery. • Developing and enforcing MHSA policies related to machineries and operations. • Ensuring proper management of hazardous substances, such as lubricants and chemicals, within the plant. • Leading safety audits and implementing corrective actions to mitigate environmental impacts, such as noise, emissions, or waste from mechanical equipment. Maintenance management • Developing and implementing preventive and predictive maintenance plans to minimize downtime and extend equipment life. • Overseeing breakdown repairs and ensuring swift resolution of mechanical failures. • Managing maintenance staff, including artisans, technicians, and contractors, ensuring adherence to planned maintenance schedules. • Ensuring the availability of critical spare parts and overseeing procurement and inventory management. Plant reliability and performance • Monitoring and improving the reliability and availability of critical machinery, including crushers, mills, flotation cells, conveyors, and pumps. • Utilizing root cause analysis to identify and address recurrent mechanical issues. • Implementing systems and best practices to enhance the overall efficiency and productivity of the concentrator. Project management • Managing mechanical aspects of plant expansion projects, upgrades, or modifications. • Coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, including electrical and civil engineers, to execute projects on time and within budget.

Relieving as Operations Engineer at Central Concentrator - East Plant, Impala Rustenburg. Entrusted in terms of Reg 2.13.6.1 of Minerals Act in force in terms of Schedule 4 of the MHSA, to ensure that all functions imposed on me by the Acts and Reg contemplated are properly performed within my area of responsibility. Reporting to MHSA Sec 3.1a Concentrator Manager. Geographical area of responsibility, includes: Ore Services - ROM Conveyors, 13x Primary Ball Mills & 2x Secondary Regrind Mills, 2x Banks of Floatation Circuit, LV & MV Substations. The role includes a structural rehabilitation program - Plant inception: 50+ years.

Operations Engineer for all workings at the laboratory, surface road and rail transport operations including surface transport engineering workshops. The responsibility is entrusted to me in terms of regulation 2.13.6.1 of the Minerals Act in force in terms of Schedule 4 of the Mines Health & Safety Act, no 29 of 1996

• Oversaw the total process plant operations at BRPM Concentrator, ensuring optimal performance across Crusher, Milling, and Floatation systems. • Managed water treatment processes and the Return Water Pump Station, enhancing efficiency and compliance with safety regulations. • Implemented strategies that improved operational reliability, contributing to a safer and more productive work environment.

Geographical area of responsibility, includes: ROM conveyors, Silos and bins, Mills, Crushers, Floatations circuit and Tailings discharge pumps and thickeners, machinery, equipment and structures at UG2 Concentrator.

Relieving as the Plant Engineer at Maseve Concentrator, Impala Bafokeng Resources. Appointed in terms of Sec 7(4) of MHSA read with Minerals Act Reg 2.13.6.1. Geographical area of responsibility: Day-to-day management and operation of buildings, structures and civil work. All mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, machinery, radioactive sources, and equipment. Day-to-day management of the Tailings dam, plant storm water dams, return water dams and pump station and dewatering drains.

Geographical area of responsibility: Total process plant operation (Crusher, Milling and Floatation and Larox press), Return water dams, Water treatment plant, ROM silo, Tailings storage facility (TSF) and Return water pump station.

Relieving Mechanical Supervisor (Projects) at Impala Bafokeng, Styldrift Mine, Reporting to the 3.1a Engineering Manager. Hydrocarbons (Diesel, various lubricants use on Sandvik trackless mobile machinery -Drill rigs, Access rigs, Bolters, LHDs, UVs) usage tracking. Implementation on how to control and monitor the usage of the above hydrocarbons. Retrieve and analyze the shafts monthly running costs on hydrocarbons. SARS tax rebates on the usage of diesel.
