My military career started as a tank gunner.When I finished my training and education at armored maneuver warfare school in Amersfoort I was assigned to Bravo squadron, 1st platoon of 11 Tank Battalion, ( Hussars from Sytzama ). I operated the turret and 120mm gun of the Leopard2a6 main battle tank, a sophisticated 70 ton weapon platform that requires responsibility, dedication, discipline and a fine touch to operate.

My work here was based on assisting the 42 armored infantry battalion staff by helping in coordinating the battalion needs and plans during their operational work and training. Who included Logistics, R&R and preparing the staff deployment preparations. During this work I noticed that in the modern network society, the unit was falling behind in market/communication positioning and was not properly promoting itself. I proposed to start setting up a communication plan. My proposal was approved by the battalion commander ( Lkol Jakops ). Once I got started I got big help from a school trainee ( Kiki Vergoossen ) and now present a communication plan for the unit. Unique for army costume. My military work was piloting/gunning the CV90 AIFV turret and armament ( 35mm cannon,coax, other arms ) I went back to army maneuver school and was trained for the CV9035NL armed infantry fighting vehicle.

JongDefensie is a network promoting sub-organization within the Department of Defense. Their main goal is to facilitates debate, meetings, and work visits throughout Europe's armed forces and expand the horizon of ambitious employees within the MoD. JongDefensie provides exposure for her most important asset; manpower. By creating and organizing moments where social networking can take place we are able to provide the opportunity to discover and enhance personal opportunities, interests and abilities. As board member of Jong defensie I facilitate, advise and oversee communications for our collective main goal: enlarging the social and physical network of the soldier in the organization and outside the armed forces of the Netherlands to stimulate personal development.

Section 2 is responsible for Intel gathering and security on batallion level. The section 2 provides Intelligence in operation planning. It provides Batallion command with vital information and situational awareness.. Most of my work is based on collator assignments and Intel gathering ( osint/milsint ). In this team-based work we provide information to the battalion staff for planning and organization goals. During this period I continued work on the external communication aspects of the battalion ( communication plan ).
