As the Vice Dean for Educational Affairs I serve as the Chief Education Officer for the Penn State College of Medicine and report directly to the CEO, Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and Dean of the College of Medicine. The Vice Dean oversees the full spectrum of medical education, including the offices of student affairs, admissions, undergraduate medical education, graduate medical education, continuing medical education and academic affiliations. In addition, I provide oversight for the office of diversity, office of global health, the physician assistant program, the clinical simulation center, the health sciences library and the office of medical education research. The newest challenge for medical education at Penn State College of Medicine is being one of 11 recipients of a five-year AMA grant for accelerating change in medical education.
