Lead Hand
Bremner Engineering and Construction Ltd.
Canmore Alberta
As a Lead Hand I take on a leadership role in the field, assisting the superintendent to ensure opperations run smoothly. I am responsible for organizing and motivating team members, completing paper-work, and contacting clients, inspectors and utilities locators. I am also responsible for ensuring the worksite is safe, maintaining the project schedule, and escalating any project concerns to the superintendent. Prior to taking on a Lead Hand role, I took on surveyor and labourer duties. As a surveyor at BECL I reduced the need for third party surveyors, by utilizing past survey experience and completing survey layouts. I completed survey layout on various projects ranging from underground infrastructure, roads and buildings. As a labourer I worked in many different roles, and learned many usefull skills. Depending on the projects needs I was tasked with installing and repairing underground infratructure (ie.pipes, manholes, culverts, hydrants), constructing building foundations, pouring sidewalks, operating heavy machinery and much more.

Regulatory Affairs Intern (Corporate Integrated Management Systems)
Oberkochen, Germany
ZEISS is an international leader in the fields of optics and optoelectronics. ZEISS has been contributing to technological progress for more than 160 years – with solutions for the semiconductor, automotive and mechanical engineering industries, biomedical research and medical technology, as well as eyeglass lenses, camera and cine lenses, binoculars and planetariums. As a Regulatory Affairs Intern I was part of a team tasked in creating a SharePoint portal used to enhance communication between business units, provide guidance regarding internal and external requirements, and serve as a database maintaining up-to-date regulatory requirements of various jurisdictions. My main project was to create a Regulatory Affairs MS Guidebook. This involved the collection and analysis of data in order to identify processes needing improvement. After identifying the processes to be covered I drafted the Guidebook in order to improve process execution, reduce business risks and ensure compliance on issues of both regulatory and organizational importance. Based on my research of various international regulatory requirements and, Zeiss' internal policies I designed simplified process outlines which identifed and explained each of the key areas of importance. Upon completion of the guidebook I presented the project to various stakeholders in order to introduce the project, gain feedback and improve the finished product. In addition to the RA Guidebook I was also involved in several other projects and assisted other team members when required. Additional tasks included preparing presentations for my SVP, researching sustainability initiatives, brainstorming future KPIs, editing documents, starring in corporate training videos and assisting in the interview and selection process of the new replacement intern.

Auto-CAD Operator / Field Assistant
Apline Land Surveys Ltd.
Canmore Alberta
Alpine Land Surveys is a Canmore Alberta based land surveying company that provides services for layout of contruction and infrastructure projects, legal surveys, Real Property Reports, 3D site surveys and more. **Alpine Land Surveys Ltd. has since been purchased and renamed McElhanney Surveying. As an Auto-CAD Operator my responsibilities included drafting of site surveys, RPRs and plot plans, answering phones and collecting client information when in the office. I was able to make the transition from Field Assistant to CAD Operator by learning how to use Auto-CAD Land Desktop by trial and error, and assistance from other Alpine team members. When working in the field we used RTK-GPS and total station equipment in order to complete survey layout, legal surveys, topographical surveys, real property reports and various other tasks based on the needs of the clients. In order to effectively carry out my role I paid close attention to detail, maintained clear and accurate notes and developed strong client relations when discussing job specifics.
