Avant Mutual Group Limited (Avant) is Australia's largest medical defence organisation (MDO). Through our licensed insurance subsidiary, Avant Insurance Limited, we provide indemnity insurance and support to more than 50,000 members.Avant is a mutual, not-for-profit organisation. Members own Avant and are key to the way Avant is governed. We have member representation on the Avant Mutual Board, and our Medical Advisory Council provides advice and counsel to the Board on key issues affecting the membership. We also have a Student Advisory Council and a Doctor in Training Advisory Council who provide guidance on key issues facing medical students and young doctors.
