As an experienced Fact-Checking, Verification, and Media Literacy Manager with a robust track record in promoting truth and accuracy in media. Currently, I serve as the Project Manager for the Fact-Checking, Verification, Media, and Information Literacy Programme at the Centre for Journalism Innovation and Development, DUBAWA. Over the years, I have played a pivotal role in instituting and institutionalizing a culture of truth, verification, and fact-checking across newsrooms in Anglophone West Africa. I have significantly contributed to developing the fact-checking capacity of over 1,000 journalists and reached more than 15,000 students in high schools and tertiary institutions with essential media and information literacy (MIL) skills to analyze and counter disinformation. Additionally, I was part of the core team involved in launching new fact-checking initiatives and tools designed to enhance the information ecosystem in Africa. I am currently overseeing and implementing numerous impactful projects aimed at combating information disorder and empowering journalists across Anglophone and Francophone Africa with the necessary skills to fight disinformation. My expertise in project management, combined with my deep understanding of the media landscape, has been instrumental in DUBAWA's success in fostering a culture of truth, verification, critical thinking, and accountability in newsrooms across the continent. I continue to collaborate closely with META, Google News Initiative, National Endowment for Democracy, the International Fact-Checking Network, and foreign embassies to implement projects within my field of expertise.

Leveraging my experience as a Fact-Checking, Verification, and Media Literacy Program officer, I am dedicated to enhancing the integrity of information and promoting critical media consumption. Currently, I serve as a Program Officer for DUBAWA Nigeria, where I focus on advancing media literacy and fact-checking initiatives across the region. In this role, I contribute to developing and implementing programs that empower journalists and educate the public on identifying and countering misinformation. My work involves collaborating with various stakeholders to design and execute projects that strengthen fact-checking capabilities and media literacy. I play a key role in organizing training sessions for journalists, conducting workshops for students, and supporting the launch of new tools and resources to improve the information ecosystem. Through these efforts, I am committed to fostering a culture of accuracy and accountability in media and equipping individuals with the skills needed to navigate the complexities of today’s information landscape.

Being the Program Assistant at DUBAWA, I support the development and implementation of critical fact-checking and media literacy initiatives. My role involves assisting in the coordination of projects aimed at enhancing information accuracy and promoting media literacy across Nigeria and West Africa. I contribute to organizing training sessions, managing project logistics, and supporting outreach efforts to educate journalists and the public on identifying and combating misinformation. In addition to these responsibilities, I help with data collection and analysis to evaluate the impact of our programs. By providing administrative and operational support, I play a key role in ensuring the smooth execution of our projects and the successful delivery of our mission to foster a culture of truth and accountability in the media sector across Nigeria.

I worked as an Administrative Assistant at the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) Entertainment Channel. In this role, I supported various aspects of program production, including coordinating schedules, assisting with the setup and operation of production equipment, and managing logistical details to ensure smooth broadcast operations. My role involved providing administrative support to the production team, helping with the preparation of materials, and facilitating communication between departments. This experience allowed me to develop strong organizational skills and gain valuable insights into the intricacies of television production.

With commitment to my role as an Intern at Radio Nigeria in Abuja, I gained valuable experience in broadcast journalism and media production. During my internship, I supported the production team by assisting with the creation of radio content, and radio drama content, including researching, scripting, and editing segments. I was involved in live production broadcasts, where I helped with studio setup and provided technical support to the programs department and team.
