About
I am a diligent and self-motivated agronomist whose last 32 years have been involved in socio-economic and rural development activities. Pioneer of the Community Conservation programme in Rwanda in 2003, I have been part of different consultations aimed at ensuring proper participation of the local communities to natural resources management and benefit sharing. Member of the Steering Committee of the Rwanda Land Use Master Plan and in full knowledge of national programmes and strategies aimed at community development, I play a leading role in my residential District in development aspects. I taught agriculture for 7 years since 1988. I have been working as a consultant in rural development and finally as a community conservation manager in Office Rwandais du Tourisme et des Parcs Nationaux (ORTPN) and Rwanda Development Board (RDB). Related to this duty, I was involved in community environment education and awareness, conservation-related conflicts resolution and community development in areas close to national parks bringing local communities to taking part to conservation activities. I have coordinated the Conservation Division since 2011 and ensured its standard in a transitional move, and am part time lecturer at Kabgayi Catholic Institute. I chair the “Association pour la Conservation de la Nature au Rwanda (ACNR)” and co-chair the “Association pour l’Education et le Développment Integré de Runda (AEDIR)”.

The PRORENA project was a bilateral cooperation project financed by GTZ and operating in Akagera National Park (Rwanda). It was meant to work on rehabilitation of the Park after the genocide and war in Rwanda. The project started in 2001 ended in 2003
