During my Associate Directorship of Biomedical Research Informatics Core (BRIC) at Michigan State University, I am responsible for the day-to-day operation of BRIC, including overseeing operational activities, managing staff, reviewing budgets and annual reports in collaboration with the CTSI Director, and preparing staff and technology requirements forecasts as part of a CTSI-wide annual planning process.

I became an official member of the Pediatric Academic Societies (PAS) starting from April 2016.

The Biorepository and Integrative Genomics (BIG) Initiative will facilitate highly effective genomics based research at UTHSC and support future personalized healthcare delivery platforms. I joined the Children’s Foundation Research Institute in October 2012. I have an appointment as Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in the non-tenure track. Previously, I was appointed Assistant Professor here at UTHSC in 2007, then at the same rank at Michigan State University from 2011 to 2012. I was hired specifically to function as the Technical Director of the CFRI Biomedical Informatics Core. My effort is distributed as 25% administration, 25% individual research, 45% service and 5% teaching. I have made significant progress in a relatively short period of time. My overall evaluation for this academic year is Exceeds Expectations for Rank.
