Systems ➥FM: Final Mile ➥GTAP: Gateway Technology Automation Platform ➥International: Next Generation Global platform ➥TSG: Technology support for all hardware/software across the globe People Lead: In this role, I oversee approximately 1,800 UPSers with capabilities that include Customer behavior, Operations Research & Deployment, Advanced Data Analytics, Industrial Engineering, Project Mgmt. Sustainability and Emerging Technology R&D. When integrated into the smart logistics network these disciplines support our primary mission to elevate the customer experience (internal/external), reduce cost and improve productivity:

I provide oversight and direction to UPS Global Operations Technology, Advanced Technology, and Technology Support Groups. In addition, I manage the planning, development, and implementation of technology innovation strategy to drive organization-wide efficiencies and effectiveness. My team also develops and implements cutting edge technologies e.g. advanced robotics and sustainable air operations using electric vertical and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. I also coordinate and facilitate global technology support teams with responsibility to support all UPS operations technologies, servers, networks, mobile devices, and computers across 5K+ locations in 100+ countries. I spearhead and facilitate a team of data engineers & scientists that designed and integrated UPS’s advanced operational analytics system on Google Cloud, while prototyping and deploying machine learning models for predicting operational outcomes. ➥ Yielded $250M+ in benefits by spearheading a high-performing team of data scientists, operations researchers, and data engineers to implement network and final mile optimization software across the globe. ➥ Enabled 1 billion vaccine deliveries at 99.9% service level despite pandemic by designing and launching a meshed IoT sensor backbone to drive UPS’s healthcare strategy premier initiative. Created and introduced a virtual fast lane in the network for high-priority healthcare and medical deliveries. ➥ Streamlined functions, automated operations, and optimized workflow by leading the transition to Google Cloud.

In this role, I led and supported the advanced technology group to identify and integrate emerging technologies and tools with an emphasis on driving innovation. I also managed the development and implementation of UPS’s advanced technology strategy with a focus on unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), robotics, sensors/internet of things (IoT), artificial intelligence, and autonomous vehicles. ➥ Secured additional cost benefits and ensured reciprocity by negotiating multiple investments and partnerships with startups and large companies involved in IoT, robotics, and autonomous vehicles. ➥ Spearheaded and facilitated the UAV team to ensure the successful launch of a new startup “UPS Flight Forward,’ creating the first fully certified drone airline in the US. ➥ Prototyped and deployed multiple robotics solutions including sorting robots and autonomous mobile robots
