About
Enthusiastic, productive Ph.D. cardiovascular researcher with experience in adult and developmental models of cardiovascular disease. Well-versed in mouse models to examine the structure and function of developing and mature vascular systems through genetic manipulation and histological, biochemical, and cell/molecular biological approaches. Responsible for application of novel approaches to understand endothelial biology from protein-protein interactions to organ-level function. Led collaborative teams in the design and implementation of cross-disciplinary experiments resulting in 4 first author peer-reviewed publications and 3 successful independent grant applications. I consistently look for innovative ways to solve problems and improve processes, and insist on raising the bar for myself and the team. I take pride in developing rapport with collaborators and colleagues, motivating the group to successfully complete projects on time.

Experience

Ph.D. Candidate, Molecular Physiology and Biological Physics
Charlottesville, Virginia Area
Member of the Isakson and Columbus labs at the University of Virginia, studying vascular physiology and control of vascular tone via nitric oxide signalling. Ph.D. defended in June 2019.

Visiting Researcher
Düsseldorf Area, Germany
As part of an international research exchange between UVA and Heinrich Heine Universität in Düsseldorf, Germany, I participate in research in the Institute of Experimental Cardiology under Prof. Dr. med. Malte Kelm and P. D. Miriam Cortese-Krott. The research in this group is focused on biochemical, biological, physiological and translational science aspects of nitric oxide synthase in the cardiovascular system.
