Tayná Leite
Founder & Director | Institutional Accountability & Gender-Responsive Governance
About
I work at the intersection of human rights, gender justice, and institutional accountability. Over the past two decades, I have operated across multilateral institutions, civil society, corporate environments, and global philanthropic networks advancing ethical governance and rights-based frameworks. Increasingly, my work has focused on a structural blind spot within the human rights field itself: the persistence of institutional violence and harassment inside organizations publicly committed to justice. My professional trajectory combines legal strategy, feminist governance theory, and public accountability mechanisms. I advise survivors and collective whistleblowers navigating institutional harm, while also working with organizations and public bodies to redesign internal governance systems, grievance procedures, and accountability structures capable of preventing abuse and restoring legitimacy. My work engages questions central to contemporary policy debates: • How can institutions align internal governance with the human rights standards they promote externally? • What regulatory and transnational accountability mechanisms are needed to address institutional harassment and corporate shielding? • How can care-centered and gender-responsive governance models strengthen democratic institutions? I believe the next frontier of human rights policy lies not only in expanding norms, but in transforming institutional cultures and power structures from within. My long-term objective is to contribute to the reform of global governance and business and human rights frameworks so that institutional accountability and gender-responsive safeguards become central, not just lateral, to international human rights policy.

Founder & Director | Institutional Accountability & Gender-Responsive Governance
Tayná Leite | Institutional Accountability & Governance Reform
Brazil
My practice operates at the intersection of gender-based violence, organizational misconduct, and institutional accountability. Grounded in feminist legal theory and care-centered governance, I work simultaneously at two levels: supporting those directly affected by harm and advancing structural reforms that reshape how institutions exercise power. I advise survivors, collectives, and mission-driven organizations in contexts where abuse is intertwined with hierarchy, silence, and reputational shielding, particularly within institutions publicly committed to justice and social impact. Core areas of work include: • Strategic coordination of collective misconduct and whistleblowing cases, integrating litigation pathways, advocacy strategies, and survivor-informed support; • Legal strategy in individual labor claims involving harassment, discrimination, and retaliation; • Development of structural accountability frameworks addressing corporate shielding, transnational liability, and institutional impunity; • Institutional reform processes focused on safeguarding systems, grievance architecture, psychosocial risk governance, and gender-responsive accountability models; • Policy-oriented trainings and advisory engagements on business and human rights, institutional harassment, and feminist governance for boards, public bodies, and civil society networks. Beyond individual mandates, my work contributes to broader efforts to align internal governance practices with the human rights standards institutions advocate externally.
