About
I graduated in May 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from the University of Virginia. While pursuing my degree, I became involved with educational programs and opportunities that allowed me to further develop my scientific knowledge and educational experience. Through these opportunities, I have demonstrated strong writing, communication, organization, computational skills, public speaking, and have contributed meaningfully to the scientific community by research that investigated the mercury exposure in the Shenandoah National Park; I served as a research assistant on this research project from September 2014 to May 2016 and presented the findings as an undergraduate senior thesis in May 2016. With my education and experiences, I hope to further investigate and remediate anthropogenic events that will contribute to the maintenance and conservation of our natural environments and resources.

jackson river governor's school
mathematics
The Jackson River Governor's School gives motivated high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to participate in an innovative and challenging program of studies in mathematics, science, and technology. The school provides an opportunity to work with faculty who have distinguished themselves as college teachers in an environment that nurtures and stimulates students with a genuine interest in science and mathematics. Governor’s School differs in many ways from a traditional high school. Some of the differences include daily schedule, pace of work, group work, grading, equipment availability, collegiate atmosphere, and collegial relationships with faculty members. Students develop a peer group whose members have high intellectual abilities and aptitude which creates a level of challenge and camaraderie not available in their home schools. Students use sophisticated laboratory and computer equipment at DSLCC, the cost of which is prohibitive to their home schools.
