About

I’ve spent my career at the intersection of policy, advocacy, and impact — first as a policy advisor and human rights lawyer, then as a public affairs executive, and as one of the youngest elected officials in my city’s history. Across every role, one constant has guided my work: a belief that advocacy is one of the most powerful tools we have to shape a more just, competitive, and compassionate society. I’ve built coalitions across government, industry, and civil society to advance solutions on housing and homelessness, modern slavery, substance use, emergency response, and poverty reduction. I’ve assisted with the prosecution of international human rights cases, advised on complex technology legislation, supported the development of Canada’s cyber infrastructure, and helped organizations navigate rapidly evolving regulatory landscapes. I don’t just understand how government works — I believe deeply in it. I believe in the promise of democratic institutions and their capacity to adapt, evolve, and rise to meet new challenges. Around the world, governments are working to reconcile new threats, emerging technologies, and shifting expectations while holding fast to democratic ideals like transparency and accountability. But that balance isn’t always clear, and the path forward isn’t always obvious. In recent years, I’ve watched a rapid shift in lobbying and transparency legislation reshape how advocacy is defined and regulated. These changes — while designed to strengthen democratic accountability — have also created new complexity and uncertainty for organizations trying to engage with government. For many, compliance has shifted from a background task to a central strategic challenge, and the risk of getting it wrong now threatens to sideline important voices from the democratic process. That realization inspired me to found ComplyGov, an intelligence platform built to make lobbying compliance seamless, automated, and actionable. Our mission is simple: to free mission-driven organizations, businesses, and associations from the weight of regulatory complexity so they can focus on shaping policy, driving change, and strengthening democracy. If you’re working in advocacy, public affairs, or policy and want to shape a future where compliance empowers rather than hinders, let’s connect.
