I started working in at Shinfield view in August 2018, my first time working with elderly. I came in as a senior carer working on the residential ground floor, and loved every minute of it. I then was promoted to senior lead on the first floor where my lovely residents living with dementia live. And I love my job, and all my residents and have a strong passion for providing top quality care to my residents. I love running a team of 12 fantastic carers and an amazing senior. This job and given me an even bigger passion with end of life care. Currently the homes END OF LIFE champion. And currently completing my level 5 NVQ having gained my 3 and my 2. I have also had the opportunity to help 2 other homes within the Berkeley care group as acting deputy manager for serval months at a time. And again I loved doing this, being able to step up into the deputy role and giving me an insight into the future role I want to achieve.

Again this is one of our sister homes, and I was asked to do acting deputy manager at portobello place which at the time was the newest home to open in the company. As the acting deputy manager we were dealing with new staff teams so I was training the teams to how the company works. I worked closely with the care team, as we dealt with lots of D2A beds from hospital beds, so I dealt with lots of professions, admissions and discharges and helped settle in a new manager among employing lots of other new staff to the home. This was my second acting deputy manager role.

I work for Berkeley care and was asked to to go Ryefield court as the acting deputy manager of the home. I’m normally a senior lead at Shinfield view. However was asked and trusted to step into this role for 4 months to help train the seniors and carers within the home and work closely with the manager and directors.
