I taught supervised language and numeracy lessons to children with varying disabilities and needs. I used art as a foundation for each of these lessons to allow the learners to be creative and have fun.

* Educated an average of 27 students per class over a period of three years. * Taught Grade 8 and 9 English Language and Literature. * Taught a language program that emphasized vocabulary, pronunciation, reading comprehension and conversational skills. * Assigned lessons and corrected homework. * Administered and graded tests and assignments to evaluate student progress. * Improved language instruction and critical thinking skills by using a variety of assessment tools and strategies. * Compiled academic status reports based on in-depth student evaluations. * Coordinated communication between students and school administration, during the evaluation by the Independent Schools Association of South Africa, to create an effective and culturally-sensitive learning environment. * Collaborated with teachers and department heads to meet educational goals. * Supervised Junior Hostel. * Created the costumes and directed the school drama production. * Introduced a poetry evening to the school events calendar. * Facilitated after school cultural activities.
