At Great Plains Manufacturing, I designed agricultural equipment that varied from a fertilizer cart that pulls behind a corn planter to a 50 foot wide grain drill (wheat planter) that folds up to transport at only 15 feet wide and can be transported carrying nearly 10,000 lbs of grain. I worked primarily in PTC Creo to create 3-dimensional designs of equipment and perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) on the frame sections to analyse frame strength. This position also allowed me to be involved with the process of future project selection by being part of a committee that ranked potential projects based on their potential merits.
