Team Consul: Service Discovery and Service Mesh

1. Served as Founding Engineer in an early-stage startup (1 of 4 founding members). 2. Helped develop and maintain the backend and infrastructure of 3 core-products. This included understanding business requirements and converting them into tech pieces with attention to scalability, observability, and reliability. 3. Daily tech stack involved: cloud (AWS, Hashicorp Terraform), backend (Python, Golang, Kafka), postgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.

Machine Learning Research Engineer in the Core Product team. Worked on: 1. Streamlining workflows by creating machine learning pipelines 2. Making product-critical services reliable and maintainable. 3. Interacting with the CUX and Solutions Engineering teams to support ML activities.

Worked in the areas of Online Hate Speech and Misinformation. I have 2 paper publications from this time in academia: 1. [Handling Bias in Toxic Speech Detection: A Survey] (https://arxiv.org/abs/2202.00126): This is an extensive survey of Machine Learning methods to handle the problem of bias and fairness in online hate speech detection datasets and models. 2. [HateMAML] (https://arxiv.org/abs/2303.02513): We introduce a new classifier model that captures hate speech and nuances in a low-resource language with limited data (adaptation to a low-resource language setting).
