Improvement of a balancing controller (force/torque) for the humanoid robot iCub. The internship project helped in creating a MATLAB interface for simulations and reformulating the control problem such that optimization tools could be used for the computation of minimum joint torques while some conditions on the feet contact forces are taken into account to ensure that the balance of the humanoid is maintained. As a result, the humanoid iCub is able to complete tasks of moving its center of mass while on both feet, requiring more agility and reliability, which is promising for the next challenges such as one foot balancing and walking like a human.
