About
Hi, I'm Sherry! I'm a graduate student in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Michigan. My current focus is on autonomous systems, embedded control, and robotics perception. I have an interdisciplinary background in neuroscience and computer science. During my time at National Tsing Hua University in Taiwan, I completed a thesis project on bio-inspired UAV obstacle avoidance using optical flow, modeled after insect compound eyes. This experience sparked my passion for applying biological principles to real-time robotic systems. Technically, I enjoy working at the intersection of sensing, control, and embedded AI. I’ve developed systems using Python, C++, PyTorch, OpenCV, and CUDA. I’m especially interested in how biological insights can inspire more adaptive and efficient engineering solutions. I'm currently seeking internship opportunities in robotics, embedded systems, and computer vision where I can apply both my research experience and hands-on technical skills. Undergraduate Research Assistant

1. Investigated optical flow estimation techniques and solved aperture problems using hexagonal pixel analysis. 2. Collaborated with the electrical engineering team to apply optical flow in UAV obstacle avoidance, achieving a 2048x reduction in algorithm parameters and earning the 2021 National Science Council Future Technology Award.

Summer Intern
1. Participated in lab projects focused on homogeneous glycoproteins and glycosylation of therapeutic monoclonal antibodies. 2. Performed cloning to create expression vectors, used flow cytometry to analyze cell populations and glycoprotein expression, and utilized western blotting to detect and quantify specific proteins involved in glycosylation pathways.
