* Academy MetroWest is an after school program geared at * helping children connect with peers in a positive and healthy way. As a counselor, I helped employ cooperative and collaborative play as a tool in helping the children become aware of their behaviors and the impact it has on their peers. A major role of mine was to formulate a supportive relationship with the children and provide them with direct feedback in hopes of helping them make changes that will lead to more social success/ strengthen their self esteem. I co-facilitated 5 groups weekly for children aged 6-15. The cliental mostly consisted of children across the developmental spectrum, including ADHD, NLD, Asperger's Disorder, and Anxiety disorders. * Overall Goal * Help children work towards: * Developing and enhancing positive social skills * Improving sense of self-esteem * Developing physical self-confidence * Improving body image * Becoming more cooperative * Increasing frustration tolerance * Improving communication skills * Learning problem solving skills

Began as a volunteer and progressed into an intern working 8-10 hours per week with clients with dual diagnosis, including Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, Depression - Introduced coping mechanisms and participated in outreach to selected community dwellers where I helped administer medication and/or confirmed their status of well-being - Coordinated and ran a psychoeducational group once a week

* Working with low socio-economic populations providing individual and group therapy. Conducting intakes * risk assessment * team work and collaboration with various members of the clinical team. Speciality in addiction services.
