Experience

Postdoctoral Appointee
Greater Chicago Area
Led the J/psi-007 experiment to measure charmed pentaquarks through J/psi photo-production, which ran in February 2019. This was the first high-impact experiment to run in Hall C. Oversaw prototype testing for next generation Cherenkov counters in high-rate environment, which evaluates the use novel light sensors such as LAPPDs and tiles of multi-anode PMTs. Built and installed test setup in Hall C for parasitic operation during Spring 2019. Demonstrated feasibility to study the origin of the proton mass using Upsilon production at EIC.

Postdoctoral Research Fellow
Coordinated upcoming threshold J/psi program at JLab 12 (Hall C and SoLID). Spearheaded development of J/psi and Upsilon program at EIC, guiding optimization of nominal EIC parameters for quarkonium physics, collaborating with ANL effort to design independent EIC concept detector. Designed and proposed new experiment to measure the charmed pentaquark in Hall C, recognized by the lab as high-impact. Established laboratory to study PMTs and Cherenkov detectors at Temple University, leading team of students and engineers to contribute to the CLAS12 upgrade as well as R&D for the SoLID experiment at JLab. Completed $60,000 MOU with JLab to improve 200 PMTs with a p-terphenyl wavelength shifter (published). Collaborated in multi-disciplinary team of nuclear and high-energy physicists to advance understanding of hadronization and validate Pythia8 for JLab12 and EIC. Oversaw all operations and projects for 2700ft2 4-room laboratory, involving 2 PIs, 3 postdocs and 7 students. Coordinated with safety inspectors, purchasing and accounting departments, risk management and the Office of the Dean to ensure continuous operations. Handled all major equipment requisitions and bookkeeping. Trained and supervised students to work in Temple University lab, including use of VME data acquisition system, PMT testing equipment, vacuum evaporator, 3D printer and polarized He-3 setup (training ground for upcoming Hall C experiment).

Graduate Research Assistant
Urbana-Champaign, Illinois Area
Headed effort to study hadronization and factorization in unpolarized SIDIS at HERMES, collaborated with researchers from DESY, BNL and ANL. Extracted and published first high-statistics multi-dimensional hadron multiplicities in SIDIS. Established web-based online monitoring system for the E906/SeaQuest experiment at FNAL.
Education

Physics
Physics Student Organization (VVN) Leading role as vice-president (2005–2006) and president (2006–2007). Organized colloquiums aimed at physics undergraduates, yearly visits to major European physics laboratories, and other physics related activities. European Student Representative Represented European physics students to the European Science and Engineering Thematic Networks (TechnoTN), discussed the implications of the European higher education reform.
