About
I have been employed at Emergent Biosolutions in Upstream Manufacturing for the past 3+ years. I adhere to cGMP and GDocP standards and operate manufacturing equipment to complete routine tasks in the production of vaccines for Phase I/II and commercial GMP manufacturing. I have advanced knowledge of suspension cell culture, aseptic technique, and document review. I am organized, detail-oriented, and great at working in teams.

Research Assistant
Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania, United States
My final year, I completed an independent research project where I looked for antibiotic potential in the extremely hot soils of Centralia, PA, where a mine fire is burning. It is estimated that 99% of bacteria have yet to be cultured, so continuing to search this unique location will reveal new antibiotics which will allow us to face the crisis of antibiotic resistance. With this project, I worked with a team in the lab and then independently analyzed the data to write the final research paper. This project allowed me to gain experience in culturing bacteria on various media types, running gel electrophoresis, and completing PCR.
Education

Biology, General
I took immersive lab courses expanding branches of biology including ecology, cell/molecular biology, and organismal biology. The most exciting courses I have taken are Animal Physiology, Molecular Biology, and Organic Chemistry. My independent senior research project searched for antibiotic potential in the soil above a mine fire. This liberal arts education emphasizes an interdisciplinary understanding across subjects other than my major, so I have developed a variety of skills involving critical thinking and communication.
