Staff Technical Program Manager - Energy and Charging
San Francisco Bay Area
Dual role comprising of Technical Program Management for the AC Charging Product Line (includes Level 1 and Level 2 charging products and accessories) and for all Test & Validation Engineering activities in the Charging and Energy org - Launched multiple campaigns to exceed product reliability targets for AC charging products by addressing high visibility field failures through more accurate edge case definition and improved diagnostics in identifying top defects - Initiated activities to improve customer experience on all AC products using Voice of Customer mapping, improved user manual experience, and top of funnel experience during install and commissioning of chargers - Spearheading the transition to NACS (North American Charging Standard) for AC charging products. Did so by collaborating with Design, Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance and Go-to-Market to create product requirements, budget plans, and robust supplier selection to go from conceptualization to mass production in less than a year - Partnering with contract manufacturers to enable tap-to-pay card payments to create frictionless payment experience in compliance with CARB regulations - Reduced BOM COGS through targeted design changes, and improved packaging, shipping and raw material costs - Managing Test and Validation activities for AC and DC charging products, supporting prioritization of tests related to new/unique/difficult components and functions to enable de-risking high severity failure modes early in the product development lifecycle - Decreased warranty spend by conceptualizing and delivering on a refurbishment process for returned chargers. This involved working with external facilities to develop rework capabilities, and automating returns and replacements.
