I am a microbiology PhD student at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. After receiving a bachelor's degree in biotechnology, I have now been working towards expanding the toolbox for genome engineering in probiotic organisms leveraging existing as well as novel synthetic biology approaches . My undergraduate and graduate research experience has allowed me to closely study and develop tools for diverse problems in biotechnology including drug discovery, antibiotic resistance, vaccine development and gene regulation. With experience and a broad skill set in molecular and cellular biology, synthetic biology and drug discovery, I’m looking for exciting opportunities in these spaces in the biotech industry.
