York's University's Faculty of Education Teacher of the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Program prepares teachers to work in a variety of educational programs and across the full range of communication/modality options. Program course work deals with areas pertinent to the education of Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing students. These include: communication, language and literacy development; curriculum and instructional methods; Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing studies; audiology; speech; principles of Auditory Verbal learning and the study of sign languages.
