In this university of applied sciences, I was broadly educated the different aspects of civil engineering. The topics were concerned with road engineering, water engineering and construction engineering. I did my internship at the Waterschap Regge & Dinkel, where I did work preparation for wastewater treatment plants. My thesis concerned the optimalization of the water management controlled by weir Borgharen. The aim of this thesis was to minimize downstream discharge fluctuations of the Meuse by temporary storing water in the upstream basin. This storage was limited by maximum and minimum water level heights necessary for safe ship navigation. Activities and Societies: educuation commitee and coaching first/second year students on their group-projects.

This two-year master program includes in-depth education on the physics of marine and fluvial systems as well as more socio-economic processes that affect these systems. Also, I was familiarized with available tools to effectively manage such water systems. My thesis concerned the influence of sand wave fields on wind waves. I created a two-dimensional model to investigate the changing behavior of propagating wind waves on the water surface due to the presence of an undulating bathymetry caused by sand wave fields. In my thesis I learned allot about formulating models, the mathematical formulation of wave dynamics as well as the process of writing a research.
