PART-TIME & FULL-TIME PARENT. Founded, developed and managed all aspects of Teal & Gray, a small soft furnishing business that recycles precious clothing and school/military uniforms into soft furnishings (products include memory cushions, patchwork quilts, chair upholstery and general home soft furnishings). Responsible for all business management; from the development of business and marketing plans through to finance management, sales, marketing, accounts, client/relationship management and web development.

PART-TIME & FULL-TIME PARENT. Provided support to children and teachers in specific areas including maths, reading and writing on an individual, class and group basis. Developed and led learning plans for extra focus groups to support those children with special educational needs and worked as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant supporting one child with Global Delay/behaviour management issues. Tracked and assessed individual ‘targeted’ children against national standards, developed programs of learning activities and implemented these in the absence of teachers, assisted with grading and marking student work and the assessment and development of plans to close learning gaps for specific students. Set-up, implemented and managed the ‘Let’s Get Cooking’ school wide program across all year groups. This included managing the budget, relationship management with government bodies, report writing, cookery teaching and student management.

Teaching IT and PC skills to individuals of all ages on government schemes; many of these trainees came from difficult backgrounds and situations. Main responsibilities included training to NVQ Level 2 standard; syllabus included Microsoft products to include Excel, Access, Word, Publisher, PowerPoint, Outlook and Windows, developing assessment processes, detailed learning plans, provide constructive feedback, learner support and portfolio building. Additionally, I was responsible for all relevant documentation and report writing which utilised my D32 and D33 Assessor Awards; this included guiding trainees on building their NVQ portfolios and assessing individual files up to and including Level 3 ready for external verification. Extensive relationship management also of customers, employers, awarding bodies and staff/tutors. I left this position as I relocated to England to seek better employment opportunities.
