I am running for Wayne County Probate Judge in November of 2026. I have 30 years of legal experience and I have concentrated my practice exclusively in all areas of probate law, including the area of Probate and Probate Litigation, Trusts and Estate planning and administration, Fiduciary issues, Guardianships and Conservatorships, Elder law and Elder Financial Exploitation. I was a board member of the Washtenaw County Bar Association from 2025-2026. I served as co-chair of the Washtenaw County Bar Association Probate and Estate Section from 2012-2013 and 2013-2014, after being elected to that position by my peers. A seasoned litigator, I have significant experience and knowledge to successfully guide clients through the difficult process of a probate court action, whether it is necessary to contest a trust or will, challenge a fiduciary improperly performing his or her duties or bring a contested guardianship. I know that these cases involve, not only important legal issues, but often difficult family dynamics and significant stress. My counsel and legal acumen have been invaluable in addressing all aspects of a litigated matter. I have been frequently involved in high conflict cases where I seek the best outcome through robust advocacy, alternate dispute resolution and accomplished trial skills.I am known for protecting vulnerable adults from elder financial abuse. I have successfully protected a targeted older individual from both professional financial scams, as well as financial harm by family members and neighbors. Not only have I stopped the outflow of money from a vulnerable adult, I have also successfully litigated against the perpetrator of the financial exploitation. I have been frequently appointed as a professional fiduciary, most often as a Conservator to manage the finances and legal affairs of elder clients who are unable to manage some or all of their finances due to physical disability, memory issues or other age related impediments. I am also an accomplished trust and estate planner, who can effectively create a comprehensive plan, giving clients the comfort of knowing that they have ensured security for their children and family.
