Suzanne McCormick
President & CEO @ YMCA of the USA
About
I’ve spent my entire career believing in one simple truth: strong communities don’t just happen — they’re built through connection, belonging, and people who show up for one another. Today, I have the privilege of serving as President and CEO of YMCA of the USA, leading a national movement of more than 2,500 YMCAs that strengthen the foundations of community in every corner of our country. Our work is deeply human — ensuring young people feel seen and supported, creating environments where everyone feels welcomed and valued, growing future leaders, and improving the well-being of millions of families. My leadership is shaped by decades in the nonprofit sector — from community health to national service to global humanitarian work. But no matter the role, my focus has always been the same: build systems that help people thrive. I’m especially passionate about: - Youth mental health and emotional well-being - Creating places of belonging, connection, and hope - Strengthening local communities through national partnership - Expanding philanthropic investment in community well-being - Developing courageous, inclusive leaders At Y-USA, I work alongside dedicated staff, volunteers, and partners to support and amplify the vital work of YMCAs — from afterschool programs to camps, from health initiatives to emerging innovations like purpose-built neighborhoods. If you’re interested in building stronger communities, expanding youth mental-health access, or partnering to create a more connected America, I’d love to connect.
