Our department participates in NCI sponsored clinical trials for the treatment of cancer and related symptoms. I have discussions with patients about the trial for the purpose of an informed consent, collect the necessary data to enroll and manage the patient while on study and in follow up. My responsibilities include monitoring for toxicities related to treatment and using the guidance of the protocol to make adjustments in treatment, data submission, processing labs and tissue samples. I am primarily resopnsible for tracking research accrual for the American College of Surgeons and am a member of the Cancer Committee at St Joes.
