The Plan and Build section is part of the Network Infrastructure Provisioning (NIP) service organisation of Telkom. The NIP division plans, builds and manages the integration of all technologies into the network of Telkom - ensuring that the network element/s seamlessly integrate into the Telkom infrastructure. The section mainly focuses on planning and installation disciplines of the telecommunication network infrastructure. This was a newly established division and my domain had to be developed accordingly. My responsibilities focus on Transmission (NG-SDH, D/WDM, CWDM, PDH, etc), Non-voice (Tellabs 8100, 6340s, Flexnet, xDSL, etc), IP technologies (Siemens Softswitch, Cisco Routers, etc) equipment strategies, polices, specifications, procedures, etc.
