About

The age of AI is transforming industries and we’re just beginning this wonderful journey. On one hand, Technological evolutions such as Software Defined systems, Cloud-Native development, Standardized programming interface, and Specialized heterogeneous processing are accelerating this transformation one step at a time; On the other, rapidly evolving deep-learning AI models such as GPT and Stable Diffusion are taking the world by storm pushing boundaries of possibility. Traditional supply chains are changing dramatically from linear to diverse and hybrid thereby enabling new business models. Developers are pulling-in their application development into the cloud with efficient digital twins and functional hardware models using common device interfaces way ahead of the actual device availability. While innovations in semiconductor hardware architecture and manufacturing continue to drive us forward, I believe that it’s the cloud-to-edge software ecosystem/infrastructure maturity that will provide the next giant leap towards an AI centric world. The ability to update and manage software throughout the product lifecycle enabling newer value-added upgrades; driving business efficiencies by leveraging cloud-based scale for both development and deployment; enable software reuse and portability across multiple platforms are a few key areas that will benefit the entire supply chain. With over 20 years of experience across Product Definition, System Architecture, Silicon Design, Platform Validation and Technology Strategy, I am immensely excited to be in a position to lead organizations through this amazing AI transformation with a software-first approach. At Arm, it is my privilege to lead the Automotive products and software group for future AI-driven SDV future. It has been great fun and learning to be working closely with Arm Ecosystem be it looking at tactical technical challenges involved in analyzing the ever-evolving AI/ML applications of our partners and mapping to the best Arm-based solutions, OR laying the groundwork for key strategic initiatives such as SOAFEE cloud-native software framework, Arm-based AVA platforms, and many significant product/technology roadmap.

Led the AI Strategy and Product Management teams for Xeon CPU and Xe GPU product lines together accounting for over $3B in AI revenue annually for Intel. AI is a heterogeneous workload, ie. Some use-cases not just run efficiently on a CPU but the CPU is the most cost-effective hardware for them. For example, Inference, classical ML, small-scale training, fine-tuning and transfer learning. However, use-cases such as large scale training and deep-learning need specialized parallel compute engines such as GPUs and DL accelerators. So, its super critical for semiconductor companies in this space to invest not only in enabling the right AI features across all their heterogenous compute hardware but also in having a robust foundational software infrastructure to access them. My team was accountable for leading this for Intel Xeon and Xe GPU product lines. AI market is expected to be >$200B growing at over 30% CAGR by 2025 across key markets such as Financial services, Healthcare, Consumer, Media, Manufacturing and Automotive. While the semiconductor or hardware share will see a modest growth, its the AI applications and services that is fueling the exponential growth. Data Scientists and AI developers enabling these applications and services expect a development environment that can offer them flexibility, openness, performance and is hardware agnostic, where they can just focus on building AI applications on data-sets that can massively improve productivity for end-users or processes. With complete ownership of Business/Product strategy and Execution, my team is focusing on enabling such a versatile cloud-native environment using not only Intel's foundational software assets and tools like OneAPI, OpenVINO, BigDL, CNVRG.io etc but also our ISV partners's and those available in open-source ecosystem. Its paramount to get this right to unlock AI's full potential for the masses.
