Regional Operations – Water.org (South Asia: India & Bangladesh) Strategic Reviews & Performance Monitoring Lead impact reviews combining financial analysis, forecasting accuracy, and organizational health indicators. Regulatory, Compliance & Legal (India) Review vendor contracts, oversee filings and audits. Support legal documentation and reporting. Lead POSH compliance processes and annual reports. Administration & Operations (India) Manage teams for travel, logistics, IT, procurement, and office operations in Delhi and Chennai. Oversee vendor management, asset tracking, onboarding, and events. Ensure compliance, safety, and efficiency. Workplace Safety & Culture Chair POSH Internal Committee, ensuring fair complaint handling, compliance, and promotion of workplace dignity and respect.  

Manage the CSR portfolio for the NatWest Group in India for projects focoused on climate, nature based solutions, habitat restoration and livelihoods. Provide oversight and guidance for the programme and all partners. Strategic planning, operational planning, establishing and maintaining the operational rhythm for new and ongoing projects in the portfolio. Identify credible partners and programmes witha focous on, the strategic pillars of the CSR programme; improving livelihoods, restoring degraded lands and strengthening institutions. Support potential partners in developing proposals. Monitoring and evaluation of a diverse portfolio of projects through online meetings, workshops and site visits.  Defining and streamlining processes of project selection, partner onboarding and disbursement, reviewing controls to manage risk.  Facilitating learning and collaboration within the national and international team and knowledge sharing between partners, aligned to the goals of the programme.   Foster employee interest and engagement through conducting webinars on climate change and creating volunteering opportunities at new and existing project sites. Create internal visibility for the impact of the CSR projects. I have also bern a diversity and inclusion champion and inclusive interview ambassador, and have mentor differentially abled colleagues. I have been member of an international jury for an international award based out of UK, I am the first Asian and woman of colour on this jury.   I have also been invited to be a member of a species specialist group, for the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).  

Establish the foundation, strategic planning, programme coordination, capacity building, result-based management and evidence-based philanthropy. Overseeing grants given to institutions and individuals.

Facilitated the creation of the Thane Creek Flamingo Sanctuary, 2 biodiversity heritage sites Velas and Anjarle and 1436 ha of mangroves reserved forests, in Maharashtra. Facilitated behaviour change and reduction in single-use plastic locally, including policy change. Managing the Project Implementation Unit. Fund monitoring (for funds of about 2 million euros) of a 10 million euro Project. Advice and act as the interface between government officials, NGOs and practitioners to design and implement participatory approaches for the conservation and management of biodiversity at Coastal and Marine Protected Areas (CMPA) in India. Strategic Planning, Programme Management, operational planning, results-based monitoring and evaluation, coordinating with the Ministry of Environment Forests and Climate Change, Maharashtra and other State governments, Municipal Department and key stakeholders. Developed partnerships with the government, local NGOs and key stakeholders for project implementation. Formulating TORs, supervising contracts, facilitating recruitment, identifying and engaging local NGOs research institutions and local and international experts, contributed to the development of policies. Facilitated capacity building of government.Instrumental in raising co-financing of almost half a million euros. Created nature education programmes and libraries in schools. Helped create and expand opportunities for local communities like eco-tourism which resulted in an increase in income to each village community by around 2.5 million (INR) rupees annually. Facilitated two interpretation centres and the creation of the Coastal and Marine Biodiversity Park, Mumbai.

Established a successful wildlife and communities programme cell for the Centre for Environment Education. Successful conflict resolution to develop a strategy for the conservation of widely dispersed bird species the Lesser Florican, whose habitat included grasslands and farms. Engaged farming and pastoral communities through social marketing and financial incentive schemes to conserve the Lesser Florican and grasslands. Facilitated studies in regenerative agriculture (natural farming and multi-cropping) Facilitated stakeholder engagement, strategic planning and community outreach that leads to policy change. Lead a multi-disciplinary team consisting of trained and experienced wildlife biologists, social workers and technical personnel to conduct a Participatory Rural Assessment for a sustainable rural development programme in 28 villages around a proposed protected area (Omkareshwar Sanctuary) in Madhya Pradesh. Fundraising and new project development. Guest lecturer at the London School of Economics and Political Sciences for the Gurukul Programme of Leadership and Excellence. Reviewer and consultant for MOEF and UNDP for the 4th National Report to the Convention on Biological Diversity for India 2009. Working Session Coordinator for the Education for Sustainable Consumption through the DESD at the 4th International Conference sponsored by the Govt. of India, UNEP and UNESCO in 2007.

Developed the course curriculum and systemised lesson plans to teach visually challenged participants from 21 countries to start, run and manage social projects in their country. Conducted sessions on Social Entrepreneurship, Fundraising, Leadership and Charity Organizational Development.

Developed educational strategies, outreach programmes interpretation centres, natural history museums and communication material; using conventional and non-conventional media. Conducted educational programmes in schools around India. Prominent interpretation programmes coordinated include the Kanha Tiger Reserve, Pench Tiger Reserve, Chilka Lake, and Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park.

BirdLife International’s Important Bird Areas Programme. I identified and got over 400 Important bird and biodiversity area in India. 1 Crafted and conducted the programme nationally, including capacity building, outreach, advocacy, stakeholder consultations and training. Developed communication strategies, and conducted wildlife surveys. Advocating the programme and generating public and media support for conservation. Conducted exhaustive surveys for Internationally Important Bird Areas across wildlife reserves in 18 states in India. Identified and designate Internationally Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas for 18 states in India. Played an active role in the formation of India's National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan [NBSAP]. Authored a sub-thematic review note and, contributed to several themes relating to wild biodiversity and ecosystems for the NBSAP. Instrumental in raising two questions in the Indian Parliament; illustrated over 100 marine organisms for a publication.
