Meet Sunny Zhang, an accomplished IT professional with over 20+ years of experience in hospitality technology. With an MBA and certifications in CISSP, CRISC, PMP, ISA, MCSE, MCDBA, CCNA, and ITIL Digital Leader, Sunny has a strong technical background that has enabled him to excel in his various roles. Formerly with Starwood Hotel Group and Galaxy Entertainment Group, Sunny joined Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group in 2012 as a Region Project Manager. He was recently promoted to VP of Technology in 2020, where he was overseeing hotel IT operations and new project developments in the Asia region. Starting in 2023, Sunny will take on the role of VP of Data Governance and Analytics, where he will drive data management for the company globally. Sunny's unique combination of technical expertise and business acumen has enabled him to see the bigger picture while driving technology innovation. He also has extensive experience in information security and data privacy, allowing him to manage the new challenges from intensifying cyber threat environments. In addition to his role in corporate IT, Sunny was a member of MOHG's Parallel Operating Committee, a group of 12 young executives who work closely with the company's leadership team to provide their perspective on the Group's strategic initiatives and the industry in general. Born in China and fluent in Mandarin and English, Sunny enjoys reading and hiking in his free time.
