The role of an IT Release/Deployment Manager consists of planning, managing, communicating and facilitating all approvals necessary on all work being migrated or implemented from a pre-production environment to a live production environment including: software development; hardware implementation; configuration and database changes to be delivered within a packaged release. Because of my oversight and the teams I matrix managed throughout the approximate nine month release cycle, the impacts to our end users during the release weekends consistently decreased. We increased the complexity of the work delivered and increasingly decreased the error rates. Worked with Customer Care, Retail and other business teams to ensure all requirements were addressed and tested prior to production implementation. Served as the technical lead for the local Billing System and provided solutions to the business. Developed, planned, and managed activities for extremely complex and high impact projects. Provided project documentation including functional and technical requirements for enhancements and new products, solutions to business opportunities, project plans, resource assignment matrixes, testing strategies, test cases, implementation schedules, post project action review and client surveys Scheduled releases for the application and coordinated the schedule with the client community, testers, DBA, system admin, system support groups and the management Facilitated testing and coordinated cross-departmental implementation of enhancements and new products utilizing the web based system.

As a Senior Program Manager in the Release and Deployment Management team, my job is to lead and mentor the teams to implement major releases for production deployment . Also are responsible for resources assignment, risk analysis and management, supplier performance analysis and post implementation reviews. Matrixed managed development, business, account management and production support teams. Managed major releases by planning deployment with multiple software systems, communicating de-confliction strategies and implementation schedule and executing the deployment to production.
