I am a passionate biotech entrepreneur and investor dedicated; most recently, I have been investing in and starting biotech companies and supporting them through a transition from early stage, often academic projects, to a position where they can scale. My focus is on Biotech Therapeutics and applied AI/ML companies. My personal 2026 focus is to work with our existing portfolio and existing Kickstarter Award winners to support them in scaling into big winners. My background since 2003 has been building our medicinal chemistry CRO business. V1.0 (Oxygen Healthcare Ltd) was sold to Piramal in 2011-13. o2h Discovery is V2.0, started in 2015, has broader capabilities and is a business I co-lead. Presently, employs 800+ staff in Cambridge, UK and Ahmedabad, India o2h Ventures manages HMRC-approved SEIS/EIS/Knowledge Intensive Biotech funds. We have invested in 37+ biotech companies, leveraging $10M in seed capital to help our portfolio companies raise over $400M and create more than 650 Biotech jobs. As per the BIA Financial Report 2023, o2h Ventures was recognised as one of the top 3 most active biotech investors. I currently serve as Chairman, Non-Executive Director, Board Observer or investor in over 20 early/growth-stage biotech companies. A long-standing advocate for the sector, I have been serving on the BIA Board for more than five years, supporting the executive team in strengthening the UK’s biotech ecosystem. I have also served on the board of Cambridge Angels for a maximum of two terms. I have initiated and overseen the launch of o2h Kickstarter Competitions across the globe, providing medicinal chemistry support to early-stage biotech ventures. o2h Discovery has since supported 30+ companies — including State4 Tx, Ternary Tx, Celestial Health, Serenatis Bio, TrimTech Tx, Type6 Tx and Breakloop Bio — helping them advance therapies that address unmet needs. Beyond investment, I have fostered community-building initiatives like o2h ChaiTimes and Biotech Bikers, mentoring emerging leaders and connecting innovators across the sector. My contributions have been recognised with awards such as the UKBAA Angel Investor of the Year, OBN Special Recognition, and Cambridge Science and Technology CEO of the Year. I am committed to shaping policies that support biotech growth, de-risk investments, and bridge the gap between ventures and global capital. I believe continuity in leadership is essential to drive innovation, inclusion and patient impact.
